New Retail & Site Guidelines
Site license means a license issued to a person who holds land or has permission from the owner of the land to develop a site for the purpose of retailing petroleum products. A site license must be prominently displayed, where any person entering the site may read it. As per the Regulations regarding the Petroleum Products for Site and Retail licenses:

Annual Submission
A Licensed retailer must submit to the Controller, not later that the end of February of each year, as per The Petroleum Products Act (120/1977 ). Please refer to regulations made by the minister in paragraph 26. (1) of the Regulations.

Environmental Studies
In terms of the Petroleum Industry an Environmental Management Plan(EMP) as contemplated in Regulation 16 (b)(i) of the Regulations, an EIA specialist is required for Site and Wholesale applications in terms of the Petroleum Products Amendment Act (Act 58 of 2003). The EMP is to be prepared by a qualified Environmental Specialist. Applicable Environmental Legislation:
